In a narrow alley of Gaza, lived Zahra—a Palestinian woman in her thirties, with the light of patience in her eyes and the fire of struggle in her heart. From a young age, Zahra knew the meaning of occupation. She grew up not to the sound of hope, but to the sound of bombs. She lost her father in an airstrike, and her mother was martyred while distributing bread to the neighbors. But Zahra did not break. She studied nursing, and used to say:"If I can't carry a rifle, I will carry bandages. I will heal the wounds of my homeland." She opened a small clinic in her home, where she treated the wounded—children and the elderly alike. She worked with simple tools, but with a great spirit. Despite power cuts and medicine shortages, she never stopped. One day, while treating an injured little girl, her house was bombed. Zahra was hit by shrapnel in her hand, but she refused to leave Gaza. She said: "My roots are here, my blood is here, and here I will stand until I die." Zahra became a symbol of resilience in her neighborhood. She sang poems of hope to the children and planted in their hearts a love for life despite the siege. On independence day, she wrote on a destroyed wall: "I will stay here, a witness to pain... and a maker of hope."
